RNC Chair Ronna McDaniel plans to step down

Ronna McDaniel is offering to step down as leader of the RNC after South Carolina's primary later on this month.

This move comes after years now of Republicans calling for her to step down, especially after the disastrous 2022 midterm election.

Vivek Ramaswamy notably called out McDaniel from the debate stage during this primary season.

Yeah, that was back in November, but a thrashing like that is tough to come back from. As is, as Vivek pointed out, a history of only losing since she took over, at a time when history would tell you Republicans ought to be winning.

Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel has offered to leave her position following the South Carolina primary later this month to allow former President Donald Trump to install his own party chair, two party advisers told CNN. She has also discussed those plans with Trump, according to a person a familiar.

Now it's up to Trump to pick a non-loser that will help the party.
