Ladies and gentlemen, the best possible crossover imaginable:
Survival TV star Bear Grylls, Russell Brand, a friend named Joe, and the Holy Ghost all met in the River Thames as Brand publicly gave his life to Christ and was baptized two weeks ago.
(I think a pastor was also involved ๐)
What a beautiful picture.
Brand is one of MANY individuals that Bear Grylls has had a hand bringing to Christ.
More from The Daily Mail:
Eton-educated Bear is the son of late Conservative MP Sir Michael Grylls.
He is one of Britain's most prominent Christians and has appeared in marketing material for the Alpha course, an evangelical introduction to Christianity that is said to have recruited 29 million to the faith ...
While it was not known that Grylls was encouraging Brand's conversion, the pair had become friends through their television work. Last year, the comedian ventured across the Hebrides with Grylls in the former SAS trooper's Apple TV+ show, Running Wild with Bear Grylls.
Here's a clip from that episode:
Bear Grylls when it comes to evangelism in the modern world:
Grylls is open about his faith in Christ and has partnered with UK ministries like Alpha, which aims to help churches in the post-Christian West share the Gospel with their neighbors.
When asked about standing alongside Brand during his baptism, this is how Grylls answered The Daily Mail:
Last night, Grylls told the Daily Mail: 'Faith and spiritual moments in our lives are really personal, but it is a privilege to stand beside anyone when they express a humble need for forgiveness and strength from above.
'Friendships when we go through tough times are worth so much.'
It's pretty encouraging knowing that Brand has someone like Bear Grylls to help him as he grows in his faith. ๐
