San Fran Mayor Caught Partying Maskless Has Worst Excuse Ever: "I Wasn't Thinking About My Mask. I Was Thinking About Having A Good Time."

We have seen hypocrisy galore throughout the pandemic as the government has implemented ludicrous and strict lockdown policies. And it always seems to be our friends in the Democratic party who are breaking the lockdown rules that they initiate.

In what may be the most brazen and infuriating act of hypocrisy yet, the mayor of San Francisco was caught over the weekend violating her own strict masking order, and partying maskless at a club in the Golden Gate City.

So, that's bad enough. That she broke her own Covid rules. She obviously needs to be called out for her hypocrisy. But it gets worse. It gets so much worse.

Just try to watch this video of the Mayor "defending" herself without your blood boiling.

"There was something that was really, um, monumental that occurred. And that is Tony! Toni! Toné! the original members, the brothers... who have not performed in public for, I believe, at least over 20 years, they are just really some of the most incredible artists in the history of this country and the bay area, in particular, and the fact that that is getting lost here is very unfortunate."

Asked about breaking her own Covid mask rule, the mayor goes off on some unrelated rant about what band she was watching.

I haven't looked up the exact wording of the rule, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't say, "Masks must be worn at all times indoors, unless actively eating or drinking, or if Tony! Toni! Toné! is performing together for the first time in 20 years."

I just really doubt that this specific exception was carved into the mandate.

But it is if you are Mayor Breed.

She goes on and is even more infuriating in her arrogance.

"We don't need the fun police to come in and micromanage and tell us what we should or shouldn't be doing...

"My drink was sitting at the table... I got up and started dancing because i was feeling the spirit and I wasn't thinking about a mask."

"We don't need the fun police"????

YOU ARE THE FUN POLICE! THESE ARE YOUR RULES, MAYOR BREED!

Businesses are shutting down and losing money hand over fist to comply with Breed's mandates, and then she acts like they really don't mean anything.

Charlie Cooke at National Review brilliantly torches the mayor in his piece from Monday.

In a vacuum, I agree with this. It's a free country, and we don't, in fact, need the "fun police to come in and micromanage and tell us what we should or shouldn't be doing." It's just that, well, London Breed is the "fun police." The rule in San Francisco is that unless you're actively eating or drinking, you need to wear a mask. And, per her own testimony, London Breed wasn't actively eating or drinking; she was dancing while her drink was "sitting at the table." Is the rule that Breed broke stupid? Yes, it is — especially given that San Francisco has system of vaccine passports that applies to the very club she was attending. But it's the rule nevertheless, and, as mayor, she has to follow it, too.

Under the current rules, my three-year-old has to wear a mask when traveling on airplanes. Like many children, he, too, likes to dance when he feels the spirit. And, like many children, he, too, is less than fond of the fun police. But do you know who cares about any of that? Nobody, that's who. As I write, millions of American kids are on their way to school with masks strapped over their faces — a fact of which London Breed's political party not only approves, but is willing to sue in order to universalize. If, as Breed implies, these rules represent unnecessary and intrusive micromangement that can't possibly survive contact with reality, then maybe we should do the obvious thing, and blow them all up?

What more needs to be said. The mayor knows these rules are pointless. She knows they're stupid. Her own actions and defense make it abundantly clear. But is she willing to rescind the mandate? Of course not! Because she takes Covid super seriously.

I would say it's all a joke, but the real-world consequences are far from funny.
