Pure fire right here:
It's not a good practice to speak ill of the dead before they've even had their funeral, but the corporate media is out there with their usual revisionist propaganda, telling Americans about how Jimmy Carter was more amazing than apple pie.
It's good to see some pushback, if not only for the young'uns like me who were born a decade or two after Carter left office and never saw his legacy unfold in real-time.
Jennings wasn't exaggerating: Carter left office and turned into a political activist who flew around the world to hobnob and broker deals, unasked for, with dictators and terrorists. When you see glowing media coverage of his steadfast marriage, church service, and philanthropic work that omits this, ask yourself why.
On the same week that Carter died, I found myself reading a 2019 spy thriller by former Navy SEAL Jack Carr where the main character is in Africa and experiences the ravages that happened in Zimbabwe/Rhodesia because Carter wanted to get rid of the "racist" European government.
Carter's actions allowed a Marxist warlord to seize control, commit genocide, and turn the country back into a Third World hellscape. It has never recovered, and the poison that destroyed it is spreading to South Africa.
It's amazing that a man's abject failures could echo so resoundingly through the decades, especially when he was only in office for a few short years.
But hey, at least there's one guy in the running to take the title of most incompetent and/or destructive president ever!
