A large dead shark was found hanging from the rafters of Ponte Vedra High School, and the event is currently being investigated by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission.
The shark had been harvested, gutted, and frozen sometime before being hung by approximately five high school students with two cables over a staircase on the outside of the building.
According to the Miami Herald, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission are working to identify the species of shark, because more than two dozen species of shark cannot be legally harvested in Florida.
The shark was discovered by school staff, who had the pleasure of cutting down the carcass and disposing of the body.
Ponte Vedra's mascot is a shark, so the working theory is that the shark was hung as a senior prank.
And while that is an impressive, if gross, senior prank, it's not nearly as exciting as a swirling tornado of sharks menacing the land.
