Snowstorms in Virginia have closed a major corridor of Interstate 95 and left thousands of drivers stranded for nearly 24 hours 😨

Following a heavy snow system that moved through the state on Monday, the scene on Interstate 95 in Northern Virginia is very, very bad:

Media reports claim that the insane backup is due in part to state police closing the highway "so crews could safely reach stranded motorists," with officials "continu[ing] to steadily move stopped trucks to make progress toward restoring lanes."

Fortunately, no deaths have yet been reported.
