Minnesota was recently treated to a visit from by the Prime Minister of Somalia. Why? He was speaking at a rally for Somali immigrant and U.S. Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
During his probably-a-little-too-honest speech, the PM said these words:
The interests of Ilhan are not Ilhan's. It's not the interest of Minnesota. Nor is it the interest of the American People. The interests of Ilhan are that of the Somalian people and Somalia.
Check out the video excerpt yourself:
The speech was a part of "Somali Week Festival," which is now officially recognized as a "significant cultural event" by Minneapolis City Council.
Why do we have an elected representative in Congress representing the interests of her native country above America?
The internet responded:
Meanwhile, violent crime in Minneapolis is skyrocketing, largely driven by Somali gang activity:
Wild.
