A desperate call went out on a Discord server. Some poor schlub had made a mistake and sent a user going by the alias "Jared from Subway" $1.5 million in crypto currency.
"Jared from Subway, if you are reading this please help. I sent you by mistake tokens for about $1.5 m. Is there any possibility to get them back? Or my investors would kill me. Please help, Jared! I want to live."
The cry for help was made public on Twitter.

Now, you'll note the word "transfers" as in plural.
The guy made multiple transfers of crypto to the wrong person, which begs the question: Why not confirm a single small transaction before sending $1.5 million?
The user claimed he mistyped a variable, and it got sent to the wrong person.
Oops!
But in an amazing turn of events, that shows there are still good people in the world, the user known as JaredFromSubway, returned the money.
Well, most of the money. They agreed Jared would keep $50K for his trouble.
