South Carolina is set to join the majority of states to do away with state-issued licenses to practice your 2nd Amendment rights.

On Friday, the SC Senate passed a permitless carry bill, after much consternation from Democrats and squishy Republicans. Now the Republican-controlled House has to send it to Governor McMaster's desk to make it official.

The squishy Republicans weren't happy that the bill would repeal mandatory state-approved gun training to exercise your right to bear arms, so, to compromise, the state will offer free gun training that isn't mandatory, to encourage people to take the classes.

But as it stands now, the classes will be obsolete.

The proposal now returns to the House, where representatives will need to agree to the Senate's addition of the free firearms training, and other changes, in order for the bill to make it to Gov. Henry McMaster's desk.

If signed into law, South Carolina will join 27 other states - including nearly every one in the Deep South - that allow open carry without a permit.

It is absolutely glorious that the 2nd Amendment is making a comeback at the state level. While blue states are often insanely restrictive on gun control, a majority of these great united states are pro-freedom now.

Now SC's House needs to get on the ball and make South Carolina a free state!
