Okay, so she words this in a way where she might have an out, but if you listen to her answer she knows exactly what she's saying.

Dawn Staley, head basketball coach for the South Carolina Gamecocks women's basketball team was asked if she thought "transgender women" (who are men) should play on the women's teams.

Here's her answer:

[Brief language]

You can see with how long it takes her to answer, and the way she answers, that she doesn't want to rock the boat.

South Carolina is set to play Iowa and phenom Caitlin Clark in the women's national title game this week. So the last thing Gamecocks coach Dawn Staley wants to talk about is "trans" athletes.

But answer, she did.

If you consider yourself a woman and you want to play sports or vice versa, you should be able to play.

Then the OutKick reporter followed up, because she knew she wasn't clear in her answer.

Yes. Yes. So now the barnstormer people are going to flood my timeline and be a distraction to me on one of the biggest days of our game. And I'm okay with that.

Her #1 concern was her social media "timeline" being flooded because she knew she was saying something insane.

This is the kind of thing that Staley is supporting with her comments:

Hard to blame Staley from a competitive standpoint. I mean, if it's all about winning then this is a GREAT recruiting pitch to have the first male player on an NCAA women's team.

You think South Carolina dominates now, just wait.

I think we're all Caitlin Clark Hawkeyes fans this weekend.
