The days of being greeted by a Starbucks barista with blue hair, piercings, and "Pride" shirts may be coming to an end.
Apparently, Starbucks is changing the dress code to require black shirts and khaki, black, or blue bottoms under the signature green apron at all their U.S. and Canada stores.
According to an AP report, Starbucks says the new rules will "make its green aprons stand out and create a sense of familiarity for customers as it tries to establish a warmer, more welcoming feeling in its stores."
Starbucks says they will even provide clothes free of charge!
Well, not so fast, Starbucks!
Over 1,000 Starbucks baristas have decided they will not stand for this colonial heteronormative fascist oppression.
Behold, the power of PROTEST!
More complaints:
A shift supervisor in Maryland had this to say about the new dress code:
Starbucks has lost its way. Instead of listening to baristas who make the Starbucks experience what it is, they are focused on all the wrong things, like implementing a restrictive new dress code. Customers don't care what color our clothes are when they're waiting 30 minutes for a latte.
This seems to be a welcome change, but we don't expect it to have any effect on Starbucks coffee tasting like a dirty ashtray.
At the very least, maybe it will make this game easier:
