You may be thinking, "Wait, didn't I read about this yesterday?" In fact, no, you did not. Yesterday the heartbeat law went into effect without being blocked by the Supreme Court. They just didn't say anything about it. But overnight, SCOTUS actually released a decision REFUSING TO BLOCK THE LAW.

So now in Texas, abortions are ILLEGAL after the unborn baby's heartbeat is detected, which can be as early as six weeks' gestation. If I haven't said it yet -- PRAISE THE LORD AND GOD BLESS TEXAS.

The Supreme Court declined to block a Texas law banning most abortions in a 5-4 decision late Wednesday.

Chief Justice John Roberts and the court's three Democratic appointees, Justices Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan, dissented.

The "heartbeat" law took effect after midnight in Texas on Wednesday. It bars most abortions after as early as six weeks of pregnancy โ€” when many women still have yet to discover they are pregnant โ€” and allows private citizens to file civil lawsuits against abortion providers.

Sotomayor called the decision "stunning," saying the Texas law "flouts nearly 50 years of federal precedents."

I agree with Sotomayor, the decision is "stunning" -- it is stunningly wonderful.

Of course, Chief Justice Roberts, the spineless weenie that he is, sided with the liberals. But thank God that we have 5 justices who have the backbone and moral compass to vote the way they did.

Take a moment this morning to celebrate this wonderful news, ladies and gents.

And ponder ... is this the beginning of the end of Roe v. Wade??
