Supreme Court upholds Arizona's law requiring proof of citizenship in order to register to vote

In a sane world, this wouldn't be controversial.

From Reuters:

The U.S. Supreme Court on Thursday revived part of an Arizona voter law requiring documented proof of U.S. citizenship to register to vote, in response to a request from the Republican National Committee and Arizona Republicans.

The justices agreed to reinstate a provision of the law after a federal judge blocked it in response to legal challenges by Democratic President Joe Biden's administration and advocacy groups.

Again, this should be common sense.

Imagine a world where you could go to a golf club or a gym without being a member. Do you think that would fly, or would you get booted out?

Now Imagine driving a few miles to the nearest HOA and trying to partake in a meeting. Do you think they would like that?

What about crashing random weddings? Acceptable, or frowned upon?

If we don't let non-members partake in our small-town functions, why would we let them vote in who will control the nuclear codes?

The answer can be found by looking back 4 years ago.

At least 40,000 people have apparently registered to vote in Arizona without any proof of citizenship.

Let's look at the margin of error in 2020 (remember that Maricopa County had massive problems with ballot machines and tabulation as well).

Huh.
