Remember the 2022 case where four University of Idaho students were murdered in the dead of night in their beds?

Many people were hoping for the death penalty so the victims and their families would have justice for an extraordinarily heinous crime.

But as suspect Brian Kohberg's jury trial (finally) approaches, it appears that the court's giving him a deal.

Kohberg is expected to plead guilty to take the possibility of the death penalty off the table (Idaho just reinstituted firing squads this year as its primary method of execution). He would then serve life behind bars with no possibility of parole.

At least one of the families of the victims is furious.

The family of Kaylee Goncalves posted to Facebook that they 'Are beyond furious at the State of Idaho. They have failed us. Please give us some time. This was very unexpected. We appreciate all your love and support.'

Remember, this comes after a yearslong process where the families were hoping for a trial followed by a just sentencing (death).

Aubrie Goncalves, the youngest sister of victim Kaylee Goncalves, absolutely tore into the legal system for the decision to offer a deal.

Aubrie went on to say, "The introduction of this plea deal, just weeks before the scheduled trial, is both shocking and cruel."

The Goncalves followed this up with more statements about how the prosecution seemingly kept them in the dark until the last second. They say they weren't even called to be informed about the deal, but that prosecutors sent them an email that only gave them a one-day warning before the scheduled court appearance on July 2 (Wednesday) to finalize the deal.

That contact info can be found at this website and in the below screenshot:

If the plea deal goes through, the saga of the Moscow Murders will be ended with a rushed plea deal behind closed doors.

Taxpayers will then pay to feed, clothe, and comfortably house a quadruple murderer for the rest of his life.

I'll leave you with this interview from Kaylee's father, Steve.
