A Tampa Bay Sheriff's Deputy saved a man that was choking while performing a traffic stop on another vehicle. The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office posted a video of the heroic act on Youtube and praised Deputy Clayton Rideout's quick action. When you watch the video, it truly is incredible how quickly he jumped into action.
According to the HCSO's youtube channel, Deputy Clayton Rideout was finalizing a traffic stop at South 51st Ave. and South 78th St. in Tampa, when another vehicle pulled up to the scene honking its horn. The driver of the vehicle got out of the car and waived his hand in the air to signal trouble. Deputy Rideout immediately realized the man was choking and ran to render aid. Within seconds, the man's airway was cleared.
Sheriff Chad Chronister commented on the heroic actions of Deputy Rideout, stating:
"We are incredibly proud of Deputy Rideout for determining so quickly the steps he needed to take to save this man's life…less than 24 hours before this incident, another deputy had saved a teen's life by performing CPR in the school's cafeteria. In these critical moments, when seconds count, our deputies apply the skills they acquired through our training programs to respond to all kinds of sudden and unexpected situations. They are our everyday heroes."
Besides this video being totally awesome, how cool is the name Deputy Rideout? 10/10 on living up to an incredible hero name.
