You guys, I think the mass deportations might be starting soon, cuz look at this:
Governor Bill Lee has mobilized the National Guard to help with in-state immigration enforcement.
From Action News 5 in Memphis:
The guardsmen will be helping with administrative and clerical duties at Immigration and Customs Enforcement processing facilities within the state.
The governor's office reports that this mission is still in the planning stages and the National Guard will continue to coordinate with local and federal officials to determine how best to help.
Troops will help with fingerprinting, DNA swabbing, photography, administrative and clerical tasks, and transportation.
DHS asked states for help in enforcing immigration and Tennessee is delivering. And they're not the only state in the mix here. Florida, along with a bunch of other states, are set to support ICE with National Guard troops.
From USA Today:
In Florida, 25 of the 200 National Guard personnel that will 'backfill' nine ICE offices across the state arrived on Aug. 5, according to William Manley, a spokesperson for the Florida National Guard.
...
National Guard troops could take on similar roles at ICE offices in 20 additional states with Republican governors, including Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, South Carolina ... and Texas.
Let's get those mass deportations started!
