That patriotic gold-medal wrestler used her prize money to buy her widowed mom a food truck she’s wanted forever ❤️

This woman is on a roll!

After Tamyra Mensah-Stock won Olympic gold in wrestling for the U.S., she said she "love[s] representing the U.S." and "freaking love[s] living there."

She freaking loves her mom, too!

Mensah-Stock had a $37,500 payout from the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee after the Tokyo Olympics, which she will use to buy her widowed mother a food truck.

"I made a promise to her and she loves cooking," Mensah-Stock said. "It's just one of her passions. Growing up, we'd be like, ‘Ooh, mommy, you put your back into this food. Like you literally put your foot in it.'"

Mensah-Stock said the food truck would be her mother's "dream come true," as she had been working on this promise for years.

"She's always doing back-breaking work and […] I've just seen her struggling ever since my dad died and I don't like seeing it," Mensah-Stock said.

Her father died in a car accident when she was in high school.

Her mom would sell food from a portable grill when Mensah-Stock was a little girl, which was "not exactly the best legal method." However, she said this food truck would be "pleasant," "legal," and "fun."

"'So how about I buy you a food truck and you can be anywhere you want to be?' [My mom] was ecstatic," Mensah-Stock recounted. "She's like, ‘Yes, I would love that.' This is five years ago. And I just keep telling her, ‘Just hold off, mommy, please just hold off.'"

Of all the things she could've spent her prize money on, she uses it to give her mom a gift.

And of all the things her widowed mom could've gotten as a gift, it's a food truck so that she can work and serve other people!

This might be even more patriotic than winning the gold medal, as far as I'm concerned.
