The ACLU is out here calling for the Supreme Court to uphold the right of colleges to admit people based on the color of their skin.
Yes, really. This isn't satire!
The ACLU was started in 1920 to "defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed to every person in this country by the Constitution and laws of the United States." It was instrumental in the desegregation of education by filing an amicus brief in the historic Brown v. Board of Education case, and it championed the Civil Rights movement with multiple wins during that era.
Despite always having a liberal focus, it legitimately worked to create an America where rights were protected and discrimination based on beliefs and immutable physical traits like sex and skin color were prohibited.
Now, the organization is out here fighting for the right for colleges to exclude qualified white and Asian students based solely on the color of their skin.
It says this is needed because everyone knows "structural racial inequality" is occurring against black students despite entire oceans of proof to the contrary.
