Ladies and gentlemen, it's a great day for hockey!
Yes, the season kicks off tonight and I thought I'd show you this amazing video of the sheer detail that goes into painting the ice at an NHL arena.
In this case, Little Caesar's Arena in Detroit.
Check it out:
In case you missed some of the text:
- Crew sprays multiple coats of white paint.
- All lines & elements are precisely measured and stenciled.
- Water is sprayed throughout the process to seal fresh stencils and paint.
- Crew hand paints within the lines of all elements such as crease, faceoff dots, lines, etc.
- A paint stick tool is used to measure and paint perfect circles.
- Logos are stenciled out and then hand painted.
Astonishing, the amount of hard work and extreme detail these guys put into this.
All for the greatest game there is!
Boys...
Let's play some hockey!
