I can hear Vladimir and Xi snickering at Villain HQ right now:
Okay, so the premise here is 1) #Girlpower and 2) you can overcome your failures if you have the bravery to keep pushing forward.
And, okay, great. I'm all for confident women and a bit more collective testicular fortitude as a nation.
But this is coming from the Army – you know, the people standing between us and powerful enemies that would carve up America and subjugate its citizens without a second thought.
Maybe I'm just a bit more versed in history than the Army's Twitter intern, but I'm pretty sure there's a long list of nations that no longer exist because failing at war tends to be permanent.
Does the Army think that war is like Call of Duty where you respawn after getting killed by an 11-year-old noob?
The quote itself is weird. Yes, it does take bravery to get back up on your feet and try again. No, that is not the definition of bravery.
The Army's choice of Lena Del Rey, a pop star known for her profanity-laced songs about sex, is quite literally the opposite of what the Army should be promoting!
(There's also the fact that no one can find this supposed quote attributed to the pop star.)
The Army's job is to slay the bad guys before they slay us, but they're too busy singing "SLAY QUEEN!" into the intersectional woke nether to care.
