Debating whether or not Die Hard is a Christmas movie has become an annual tradition for some people. But now the question has been settled for good.

Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? Yes.

That at least according to the film's director, John McTiernan. He confirmed it in a 12-minute video. In it, he says that though he did not originally intend for Die Hard to be a Christmas movie, "the joy that came from it is what turned it into a Christmas movie."

Whatever that means.

He also said it's about a bunch of anti-capitalism stuff, too. So, there's that.
