The fake news has started their Kamala spin machine, but their lies don't fly on X. Check out these epic community notes.

Did you really think that the media had changed when they started being tough on President Biden?

Of course not!

Let's start with this example from The Hill:

Here's the screenshot of the community note in case it gets taken down:

And here is the link provided in that note.

How is it supposed to be a good thing that the supposedly "neutral" DoJ is favoring the Democrat over the Republican?

I thought they were supposed to be unbiased and not a deep state that favors the Left!

I guess I'm thankful that the story is a total lie and no one who works for the DoJ actually signed the letter.

The Hill can post this anywhere, and they will. But only X is out here slapping the Community Note on them.

(Thank God for Elon, huh?)

This next story comes from CBS News, which uses a shift in framing to try to spin Kamala's support of the bail fund for violent BLM rioters back in 2020.

Again, this is a shift in framing. Most readers do not click past the headline, and they know this.

Most people only see "Trump falsely accuses," but the story itself attests to the fact that 1) Trump wasn't accusing Kamala of directly donating and 2) that Kamala encouraged others to donate, which was the original point.

Again, here's the note in case things change.

And, of course, here's Kamala's Tweet soliciting funds to bail out criminals. It's still live on Twitter (for now).

I'll screenshot that one too, in case Kamala's team decides to scrub her account.

Now let's get to the article. I'll highlight the singular part that the entire headline was about to show you how they shifted the argument entirely to try to paint the truth as false.

Trump claims Harris helped raise millions and personally donated to a fund that got extra support to bail out protestors in the aftermath of George Floyd's death. 'One of the dangerous criminals Kamala helped bail out of jail was Shawn Michael Tillman,' Trump said at a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina. 'You know that name. A repeat offender who, with Harris's help, was set free. He then went on to murder a man on a train platform in St. Paul, Minnesota, shooting him in cold blood six times, lying on the ground.'

While parts of Trump's statement are true โ€” Shawn Michael Tillman did murder a man in St. Paul after being released from jail โ€” other parts of the former president's statement are misleading.

In June of 2020, just after George Floyd's death, then-California Sen. Kamala Harris tweeted, 'If you're able to, chip in now to the @MNFreedomFund to help post bail for those protesting on the ground in Minnesota.'

... The Minnesota Freedom Fund said, 'It is not correct that then-Sen. Harris has donated to our organization. We have no relationship with Harris beyond a single four-year-old tweet.'

See what they did?

Trump was right about Tillman. He was right about Kamala's promotion of the bail fund.

But because there were some "technicalities" in play, CBS News played fast and loose with Trump's words so they could lead with the phrase "Trump falsely."

"Well, yeah, Kamala did promote that bail fund and yeah, one of the men released by that fund just murdered someone, but technically, Kamala never donated personally to the fund."

Tell me: Where in Trump's quote did he say that Kamal personally donated?

'One of the dangerous criminals Kamala helped bail out of jail was Shawn Michael Tillman'

Kamala helped bail people out by promoting the fund, not by personally donating it. If you use your support as a public figure to promote something, that is very much the definition of helping.

But CBS News decided to interpret it (very much on purpose) as Trump saying Kamala had donated personally, which he never said.

CBS did this so they could lie in their headline while being vague enough to avoid a lawsuit.

The best part of this debunking came courtesy of the RNC who pointed out that the very outlet that is now claiming that Kamala never supported the "Freedom Fund" literally interviewed her about the fund at the time:

Gosh, I love Community Notes almost as much as I hate journalists.

(Which is to say, not nearly enough.)

I mean, is there any low to which a journalist will not stoop?

The Fake News journalists are, no doubt, the enemy of the people.
