Lead actress of Star Wars flop blames cancellation on “hyper-conservative bigotry" and "the alt-right”

We've been following with hilarity the progress of the Acolyte, what was billed as a show "packed with LGBT+ talent":

The show introduced pronouns into the Star Wars universe:

It also introduced lesbian space witches!

(That's not even getting into the pure Marxist ideology in the show.)

The end result was, well, somewhat predictable:

And of course, right on cue, the show's star is apparently blaming its demise on those nasty alt-righters or whatever:

[The cancellation was] not a huge shock for me …

For those who aren't aware, there has been a rampage of vitriol that we have faced since the show was even announced, when it was still just a concept …

That's when we started experiencing a rampage of hyper-conservative bigotry and vitriol, prejudiced hatred and hateful language towards us ...

It brought up a lot for me, a lot about social-political dynamics, a lot about my own value system and how I respond to that hatred, about how I move through the world at large...

In order to be myself, I would have to honor my value system by being vocal...

In spite of the vitriol we received, and the targeted attacks I would say, from the alt-right ...

How predictable.

Blame your garbage failure on "hyper-conservative bigotry" rather than the fact that it was just a bad show.

I kinda get the feeling that Disney isn't going to learn anything from this and is just going to do it again, don't you?
