Her Royal Highness Gretchen Whitmer the First (May She Live Forever) has had her once unlimited power even further restricted Wednesday as Michigan voters and state representatives passed a law repealing the emergency act she so thoroughly abused to keep everyone locked down last year.

A 76-year-old Michigan law crafted in the wake of Detroit race riots and used more recently to combat a generational health crisis is officially dead.
The Republican-controlled state House on Wednesday voted 60-48 largely along party lines in support of initiative petition language that repeals the Emergency Powers Act of 1945. The vote came one week after the state Senate also approved the initiative.
Gov. Gretchen Whitmer used the law to issue sweeping health and safety restrictions in the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, moves that eventually garnered pushback from Republicans and other opponents.
The Michigan Supreme Court ruled twice that Whitmer's use of the law was unconstitutional.
The group Unlock Michigan garnered 540,000 signatures in just 80 days. Democrat officials dragged their feet in certifying the signatures and tried to stop the petition in court, but ultimately failed.
In Michigan, if a petition gets enough voter support within a certain timeframe, it can go directly to the state legislature for approval without any input from the governor.

The group is now raising support for a petition to take aim at the governor's weaponization of the health department. After the Supreme Court ruled against her, Whitmer had the health department threaten to revoke the license of businesses that did not comply with her lockdown orders.
Businesses that are heavily regulated by the health department, such as restaurants, were forced to close or lose their licensing. Several business owners who refused to close were arrested.
The news comes amid the revelation that the nefarious plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer (and paint conservatives as domestic terrorists) was probably planned by the wonderful FBI.
