It's not like he didn't warn us, folks:
If you haven't followed this story, Pastor Artur Pawlowski is a Polish immigrant to Canada who grew up under communism. Authorities have come to his church multiple times during worship to take pictures of those worshipping and look for reasons to shut down the church, as they have with others.
Pawlowski has driven them out (quite colorfully) every single time, calling them "Gestapo," "Nazis," "communists," and the like.
After they attempted to gain access to the church again last weekend, Pawloski had this to say:
"We were warning Americans and Canadians – Westerners – about what is coming. We could smell it from many years. People were laughing at us. 'Oh, you're just making this stuff up. You're blowing this out of proportion. You conspiracy theorist.' However, it's here. It's here and you cannot come and worship God without the interference of the Gestapo."
The pastor then warned people that if they "bow to this medical tyranny" being imposed in the name of public health, those in power will come "for everything."
He wasn't kidding around. This is from the article detailing the warrant for his arrest:
"The warrant, which was issued April 23 but not seen by Pawlowski's lawyer until this week, also forbids Pawlowski or anyone else from interfering with officials attempting to enter his church and, if he resists, permits law enforcement 'to do anything necessary to arrest him, imprison him, and drag him before a judge."
Remember, this pastor's crime is not allowing police to come into his church, where parishioners have committed the grave sin of disobeying the State's mandates for how many people can worship and where.
This is part of what the warrant says:
"In making an arrest under this Order, Law Enforcement is authorized to do anything necessary to carry out the arrest, including the use of as much reasonable force as may be necessary to make the arrest, and without warrant to enter any place where on reasonable grounds Law Enforcement believes that the offending person may be found."
I know I'm just a silly person, but issuing a warrant for the crime of state-unapproved worship seems just a bit Gestapo-ish if you ask me.
A campaign is being launched to support the pastor, who would be the second after Edmonton's James Coates to be arrested in Canada for refusing to grant control of his church to the State.
I keep wondering, if an excuse like COVID-19 can be effectively used to completely obliterate the worship of God and human liberty, what else will those in power be able to use as leverage in the future?
