THE HECK? Southern Baptist North American Mission Board partners with He Gets Us, an organization that says Christ's deity doesn't matter

In an effort to be "relevant" and evangelize the modern and hip world, the Southern Baptist Convention has partnered with an evangelistic organization called "He Gets Us" which is a group that seeks to introduce people to the "real" Jesus and distance itself from traditional Christianity.

Wednesday, the North American Mission Board (NAMB) hosted a webinar about the "evangelism campaign" He Gets US and received some harsh feedback from those worried about the orthodoxy of the group.

When you look at their website, you'll notice that they are all about humanizing Jesus and emphasizing His humanity.

While it's fine to emphasize that Jesus was fully human, this group does so at the expense of His full divinity.

Here's an excerpt from one article:

Either way...

THE ACTUAL HECK???

Yeah, apparently they aren't bold enough to unequivocally state that Jesus lived a perfect life, which would mean He is not God, and if He is not God, then the Christian faith is utterly useless.

"If we have put our hope in Christ for this life only, we should be pitied more than anyone." - 1 Corinthians 15:19

Is this how they want to convert people? By telling them that the hope found in Christ might be a lie?

This is stuff that's easy to find on their website.

This group does not hold a high view of Christ or Scripture.

Seriously, what are they trying to imply?

Why are Southern Baptists giving money to this very unserious group?

The SBC is in deep trouble if it supporting this woke, progressive Christianity.

Yeah, the He Gets Us folks and the higher-ups in the SBC are embarrassed of everyday Christians and join movements like this because it's more important to them to make Jesus seem hip. This is what rot the post-modern Emergent Church, seeker-sensitive drivel has gotten us.

A reminder for the SBC:

"For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." - Philippians 2: 9-11

One more for the "Jesus is a pacifist hippie" crowd:

"Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse. Its rider is called Faithful and True, and with justice he judges and makes war. His eyes were like a fiery flame, and many crowns were on his head. He had a name written that no one knows except himself. He wore a robe dipped in blood, and his name is called the Word of God. The armies that were in heaven followed him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. A sharp sword came from his mouth, so that he might strike the nations with it. He will rule them with an iron rod. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. And he has a name written on his robe and on his thigh: King of Kings and Lord of Lords." โ€“ Revelation 19:11-16

CHRIST IS KING. ๐Ÿ˜ค
