You already know the answer to my question, but we should ask it every time we see a story like this:
According to the Portland Police Bureau, just after midnight on April 24, a woman was walking on West Burnside Street when she was approached by a man who punched her, then proceeded to kick her and stomp her once she was on the ground.
When police arrived at the scene, they said they found the woman suffering from head and leg injuries. Before being taken to a hospital, she told police the suspect had uttered a racially charged comment before the attack.
Portland is a woke dystopia beyond comprehension to the normal person, but credit to their police department for understanding that racists come in all shapes, colors, and sizes.
'Nobody should walk up and down the streets and be fearful that they are going to be attacked for what they believe, how they look, who they are. As a result, we're investigating this, we need the community's help in identifying and locating the suspect, and we need to get him behind bars,' said Mike Benner, a PPB spokesperson.
Pacific Northwest journalist Andy Ngo had this to say about the attack:
"Expect no statements from woke Gov. Tina Kotek or Mayor Wilson," Ngo continued. "Local 'racial justice' styled groups have also said nothing while previously amplifying every hate hoax."
Indeed, every time there's a whiff of racially motivated attacks against black individuals, major politicians, celebrities, and national news outlets cover it at-length and in-detail, making sure every American hears about it.
Because of the one-sided coverage, and because humans understand incentive structures, many of these stories turn out to be hoaxes. It's routine enough that we have a category for it here on Not the Bee. 👇
If the media and politicians covered this kind of ethnic violence and racism fairly and evenly, you'd see far fewer people trying to cash in on such hoaxes.
Think about that the next time you see the media focus on a story about racism.
