The prizes in these claw machines sure have changed since I was a kid!
Yes, the Pennsylvania Game Commission was recently called to the Meadows Family Fun Mini Golf in Duncansville after employees spotted a live groundhog burrowing amongst the stuffed animals in the claw machine.
Can you imagine if your kid nabbed one of these out of the claw machine for $2?
What a steal!
The Game Commission posted on their Facebook page,
Who doesn't love the claw machine game? They have the best prizes! From a cute stuffed animal to a football, or maybe rubber duckies, or a groundhog… wait, a WHAT?
Employees at the Meadows Family Fun Mini Golf in Duncansville, Blair County were startled by an unusual 'prize' inside one of their claw machine games.
State Game Warden Salvadore Zaffuto was called to respond to a groundhog that found its way inside the vending machine and in turn could not find its way out.
When Warden Zaffuto responded and approached the machine, he saw a wave of stuffed animals move as the groundhog scurried around underneath, then it popped its head out to assess the situation.
Soon after the warden arrived, they were able to contact the vending machine company who sent a representative to unlock the machine so that Zaffuto could safely remove the animal ... and not by way of the claw as this photo might suggest:
The groundhog was not harmed during his escapade and was released back into the wild where he'll once again live among less colorful animal companions.
