This longtime NYC criminal stabbed two girls in Grand Central Station on Christmas. He had just been released after threatening to shoot someone.

Thirty-six-year old Steven Hutcherson is, alas, becoming increasingly representative of life in New York.

The man has "a slew of prior arrests and a history of mental health issues," but he's freely allowed to walk around in New York City, even when he threatens to kill someone:

[H]e was last arrested Nov. 7 for allegedly threatening to "shoot" a stranger in the Bronx.

"I'm gonna shoot you. I don't care what kind of green card the government gave you," he said, according to the criminal complaint against him. "Open your mouth and say something. I will shoot you right now."

He was arrested on a slew of charges but eventually he "pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor, and was sentenced Dec. 12 to conditional discharge."

That's how it goes in New York. A judge sees a violent criminal who will inevitably maim and kill people if set free and can't say it fast enough:

In any event, what happened afterwards should not, at all, surprise you:

[Hutcherson allegedly] randomly stabbed two teenage girls enjoying a Christmas morning meal with their parents at a Grand Central Terminal restaurant — after ranting that he wanted "all white people dead," authorities said.

The girls, 14- and 16-year-olds visiting from South America, were attacked at Tartinery in the Grand Central Dining Concourse around 11:25 a.m. Monday and suffered non-life-threatening stab wounds, police and sources said.

"I want all the white people dead," [Hutcherson] allegedly yelled, according to police sources. "I want to sit next to the crackers."

When I find out that a career criminal was released and went on to do more criminal things, it amazes me that some people are always surprised.

Thankfully, the girls were released from the hospital and are reportedly doing okay.

Hutcherson, meanwhile, "was booked on felony counts of attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a weapon and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child."

This time, New York: Please don't let him out.

(They're gonna let him out, aren't they?)

Y'all had Batman tryin' to save your city, but you decided to prosecute him instead.
