A University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse chancellor has been removed from his position by the board of regents after it was discovered that he and his wife had been starring in adult films which appeared on Pornhub and OnlyFans.
Joe Gow had served as LaCrosse's chancellor for 16 years, and has now been placed on paid administrative leave due to the films. He will return to the school in a faculty role pending a review of his status as a tenured faculty member.
Gow told The Associated Press in a phone interview Thursday morning that regents had discovered that he and his wife, former UW-La Crosse professor Carmen Wilson, had been producing and appearing in pornographic videos.
He maintained that he never mentioned UW-La Crosse or his role at the university in any of the videos and the firing violated his free speech rights.
"My wife and I live in a country where we have a First Amendment," he said. "We're dealing with consensual adult sexuality. The regents are overreacting. They're certainly not adhering to their own commitment to free speech or the First Amendment."
Yeah bro, I'm not sure this is the kind of free speech we're talking about when we talk free speech on college campuses. You're the chancellor of the university and you're out here filming porn for the internet.
Then again, this is why a society based on "free speech" and "consent" doesn't work without a moral guidebook underneath. Left to itself, human nature always bends toward the worst of the slippery slope, which is why John Adams said the Constitution was made "only for a moral and religious people" and was "wholly inadequate" otherwise.
(People defending a certain "conservative" calendar this week might want to take notes.)
Is it that hard to understand why the school wants you out of your leadership position? I mean, I'll be surprised if you're allowed to keep your faculty position after this is all said and done.
I mean, just look at this:
The couple's account on X, formerly Twitter, hinted at their hobby: "The Passionate plant-powered couple cooking, conversing, and shooting with top adult video stars. Visit our LoyalFans and OnlyFans sites for fully explicit scenes!"
Gow and Wilson have six videos on OnlyFans that feature adult film stars, according to descriptions of the videos. They also appear on at least two other porn websites, PornHub and XHamster. Some videos have more than 200,000 views. All videos were posted in the last two months.

The couple appears to have published two books together under the names Geri and Jay Hart. According to the author bio on Amazon, the names are pseudonyms for "a married woman and man who serve in executive positions at two well-known organizations in the U.S." An author photo shows Gow and Wilson.

Didn't think so.
The couple also has a YouTube channel where they cook with porn stars and then cut away once the sex starts. It's odd, and it's not something you'd expect from a school chancellor. Especially not the longest-serving chancellor in this campus's history.
Anyhow, I see a huge lawsuit against the university coming from Gow, and with today's culture I won't be surprised if somehow he wins out even though the university has every right to not associate with him.
