Everyone knows the Church of England wandered off the straight and narrow years ago: blessing same-sex marriages, pushing DEI, even hosting Islamic services in its cathedrals, so no one was really all that surprised when they appointed Sarah Mullaly as the first female Archbishop of Canterbury.
But what might surprise you is that it was the female archbishop that pushed the conservative conference of the Anglican Church over the edge.
It's not necessarily the fact that Mullaly is a woman, but that she supports all the worst woke garbage, including teaching that God is a woman.
Here's a quote from Mullaly's Christmas sermon last year:
We partner in the transformational work of the Holy Spirit, as she breathes life and warmth into weary places, tired bones, cold homes and wounded relationships.

The Global Anglican Future Conference (GAFCON) posted their 8 theses to the door of their website officially announcing that they no longer saw the Church of England as being in communion with the Anglican Church.
We declare that the Anglican Communion will be reordered, with only one foundation of communion, namely the Holy Bible, "translated, read, preached, taught and obeyed in its plain and canonical sense, respectful of the church's historic and consensual reading".
We cannot continue to have communion with those who advocate the revisionist agenda, which has abandoned the inerrant word of God as the final authority.

And this is my favorite statement, which classical liberals ought to take note of:
We have not left the Anglican Communion; we are the Anglican Communion.
The line didn't shift left or right for GAFCON; it was the Church of England that stopped walking the line with them.
