Okay, here's something you don't see every day:
The headline, in case you missed it, "Possible burglar rescued from [Little Caesars] pizza oven vent."
I'm sorry, but can we talk about that caption up there?
It's unclear what the man is being charged with or why he tried to enter the building through the vent.
That's a great point.
Why did he try to enter the building through the vent?
Is there some sort of secret Little Caesars recipe I don't know about?
Is the guy a former employee?
Maybe they keep a giant pile of cash in there, I don't know.
Either way, this is quite a strange incident.
Luckily, this Atlanta-area Little Caesar's was in a strip mall right next to an Army recruitment office and the Army recruiters, as they're known to do, showed up early and heard the man's screams.
"I definitely did not expect this," Staff Sgt. Brittany Davis, a recruiter for the U.S. Army, told WGCL.
Davis and her coworker first heard the pleas for help when they first opened the recruitment office for the day.
"We actually stepped back to see if maybe someone was on top of the roof," Davis said.
The opener at Little Caesar's heard the screams, too.
And they were coming from the oven vent!
Immediately he picked up the phone:
After Davis called 911, first responders arrived and got to work to cut away part of the vent.
"Kind of unconventional, something we don't deal with every day," said Capt. Jaeson Daniels, a spokesman for DeKalb County Fire & Rescue.
Unconventional, indeed!
A very strange happening.
A priceless photo for your pleasure:
🤣🤣🤣
Okay, the line is here again, so I'm just gonna throw it in block quotes one more time because I think it's hilarious.
It's unclear what the man is being charged with or why he tried to enter the building through the vent.
"I didn't ask," [Sgt.] Davis said. "I'm just glad they didn't turn the oven on because he would've been toast."
Toast, indeed.
Or maybe a flatbread pizza.
