If your coffee tastes weird this morning, keep reading!

Watch this lady put bleach in her boo's cup of morning Joe:

Here's another photo of her trying to assassinate her husband:

And another one:

Melody Johnson is (was?) married to Rory Johnson, a US Air Force airman who noticed his coffee started tasting weird while they and their child were stationed in Germany in March 2023.

Apparently, Rory and Melody's marriage was on the rocks and they were planning to divorce, so he assumed she might be trying to off him and set up cameras to catch her in the act. He then tested the coffee with pool testing strips and found high levels of chlorine.

Rory waited until the family was back at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona before he filed charges, pretending to drink the coffee in the meantime.

The evidence of attempted murder, supposedly for his life insurance payout, was pretty dang clear. Rory had to provide an insane amount of evidence before she was arrested, however: His initial submission of video wasn't taken seriously because police couldn't see what she was pouring into his coffee, so he had to set up an extra camera in the laundry room that captured her taking bleach and walking it to the kitchen!

Melody confessed and pled guilty in exchange for a plea deal.

None of us could have imagined that plea deal would mean ZERO jail time though!!

From KGUN 9:

Melody Johnson was facing an attempted murder charge. In April, she pled guilty to a low-level felony of putting poison in food and drink.

Rory played a part in asking for less severe punishment as part of the plea deal. Melody received only three years of probation as her punishment.

"Through our 17-year journey together, she has never attempted to physically harm me until last year," he said. "Her transgressions were predominantly verbal and emotional."

Rory asked the judge to include mental health treatment as part of the plea.

While her period of incarceration may have imparted valuable lessons, I harbor doubts that it alone will address the underlying issues. Hence, I respectfully petition that Melody be mandated to undergo mental health treatment and educational programs in concert with probation.

A jilted woman poisoning a lover's food to earn the title "black widow"?

A tale as old as time!
