This month's tornado outbreak has been "one of the deadliest" in recent years but it's barely a blip in the news

It's March in the United States, which means there are plenty of strong winds brewing up on the daily, especially in the east and midwest.

You may have seen news reports about the wild tornado systems that moved through much of the U.S. over the weekend. But, trust me, it was a crazier weekend than you think:

One of the deadliest tornado outbreaks in recent years took place over the last 3 days, with over 47 fatalities, over 66 tornadoes, and at least 7 EF-3 and 2 EF-4 tornadoes.

This will go down as a historic tornado outbreak.

Just look at that map:

The polygonal warning map puts it in even starker detail:

Here's how the mind-blowing system played out across several days:

Isolated radar, meanwhile, showed the sheer instability in the climate during the outbreak:

Footage of the twisters and the resulting damage was even crazier:

The crazy weather wasn't just limited to tornadoes:

According to Wikipedia (yes, the outbreak was huge enough to warrant its own Wiki entry), "at least 42 people have died from both tornado-related and non-tornado related impacts across eight states."

Crazy stuff. Pray for the victims.
