Next to Harambe, this might be the greatest of apes.

I'm sorry if you're horrified, but Harambe can't stop laughing at this.

Yeah, the mini-marsupial decided it wanted to check out that orangutan's sweet crib at the Perth Zoo in Australia, but the orange ape wasn't having any of it.

He took the little guy to the TALLEST TOWER AND YEETED HIM INTO THE AFTERLIFE.

The original poster over on Reddit explained just how savage the orangutan was about defending his homestead.

"Was throwing the possum around on the ground at first, then chased it up the pole and started poking it with a stick."

The possum "was thrown into another enclosure with two orangutans."

😭

You know what probably happened next.

According to the Perth Zoo, the fate of the wily possum is unknown, but they assume it's dead.

I would presume it did not survive the fall. Obviously the loss of any living creature saddens us, but also nature playing out.

Interesting how people always say that when animals kill each other but not humans, as if humans aren't just animals.
