A walrus has been spotted for the first time in Ireland, and marine biologists believe that the animal traveled to Ireland via ICEBERG from the Arctic.
Man oh man, what a commute!
The marine mammal was discovered on the rocks along Valentia Island in Kerry, witnesses told the Irish Independent.
Kevin Flannery, a Marine Biologist and the director of a local aquarium, told the outlet that Sunday's discovery is the first confirmed sighting of a walrus in Ireland, saying:
"He's from the Arctic. I'd say what happened is he fell asleep on an iceberg and drifted off and then he was gone too far, out into the mid-Atlantic or somewhere like that down off Greenland possibly."
Flannery is hoping the Walrus gains enough strength to make its way back up through Greenland.
No word yet if the Walrus was planning on celebrating St. Paddy's day or if they were just swinging by for a quick pint.
