This was a scary play at first base for Twins Shortstop Royce Lewis

Down by a run late in the game on Sunday, Twins Shortstop Royce Lewis thought he had an RBI single that would tie the game, if only he could beat out the throw.

Well, here's how that ended:

Yikes!

Luckily, Lewis is just fine after this awkward fall, and he came away with only a few bruises and a scratch on his head. (He might wanna go see the chiropractor at some point, but that's just my two cents.)

Also, as a first baseman, one of your main priorities should be to get the heck out of the way on plays like this. It's the baserunner's path. This is easy for me to say, since I'm not out on the field trying to save a run in the MLB, but still, you'd think a professional athlete would be able to make it happen.

I just hope Mr. Lewis is okay after this, and as far as I can tell by the reporting, he's just fine and suffered no major injuries.

Rest up, my man. It's a long season.
