Guys, when I saw this video I genuinely thought there was NO way it was real.
This is a graduation ceremony for the nursing school at Thomas Jefferson University, in Philadelphia, PA, and the announcer mispronounced A LOT of very normal names.
Is this a DEI hire gone, well, normal? What the heck is happening here?
It's truly amazing. Like, she's never seen the name "Elizabeth" before?
And this lady frustratedly WATCHING the stream: HILARIOUS!
The first few grads look completely confused, looking around like, "there's no WAY she was just trying to say MY name." But as the ceremony progressed, they all accepted their fate and just trotted out there, no matter what was said.
It actually gets funnier the longer you watch it. Because she says the names before it gets on the screen, so you have a second or two to guess what name she's trying to read.
Victoria Lee-ZooBetbross (Victoria Elizabeth Bruce)
Mollina Zabeth (Molly Elizabeth Camp)
Caroleena Urena (Caroline Arena)
Tah-moo-may (Thomas)
SHE COULDN'T PRONOUNCE THOMAS! THOMAS IS THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL!
It was so bad, the school put out an apology.
Wait ... they tried to write the names out phonetically and THIS is the result? I've never been more embarrassed for someone in my whole life.
This is so painful. I feel sorry for those grads.
I'd let Joe Biden do my commencement ceremony before this lady!
