Trump appeared on the Full Send podcast on Wednesday to talk about all things Russia and Ukraine, and in this interview he discussed the German and Russian Nord Stream 2 deal which allowed Russian oil to fuel Europe.

Under Trump, the Nord Stream 2 oil pipeline from Russia to Germany was sanctioned, helping to destabilize the near monopoly of the Russian oil industry in Europe. Biden came in and waived those sanctions last year, enabling Russia to rake in more money and prepare for war.

Trump discussed how former German Chancellor Angela Merkel made a deal with Russia to complete Nord Stream 2, and it's the most Trump-y thing you'll ever see:

I sent [Angela Merkel] something that was a little gift. It was a white flag. It was a flag of surrender. She said, 'what is this?' and I said, 'It's a flag of surrender so that when Russia gets hostile, which they have...'
