Donald Trump has officially pleaded "not guilty" in Miami to all 37 federal felony counts that have been brought against him in Special Counsel Jack Smith's classified documents case.

Trump posted to social media on his way to enter his plea.

Alina Habba, one of Trump's lawyers, had this to say outside the Miami federal courthouse:

"We are at a turning point in our nation's history. The targeting prosecution of a leading political opponent is the type of thing you see in dictatorships like Cuba and Venezuela. It is commonplace there for rival candidates to be prosecuted, persecuted and put into jail."

The 37 federal counts Trump faces involve alleged retention and refusal to turn over classified documents from his time as president.
