The comment from Canadian PM Carney came after Trump mistakenly referred to him as "president" during a summit in Egypt where leaders from more than 20 nations arrived to sign the peace plan that brought the war in Gaza to a close.
Considering Trump arranged that peace plan, he's probably deserved the right to call people whatever he wants.
Anyway, "governor" has a nice ring to it!
