Holy moly, what a statement from the president.
Ingraham: 'If you want to raise wages for American workers, you can't flood the country with tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of foreign workers."
Trump: 'I agree, but you also do have to bring in talent.'
Ingraham: 'Well we have plenty of talent here.'
Trump: 'No. No you don't. No you don't.'
Ingraham: 'We don't have talented people here?'
Trump: 'No you don't.'
Trump: 'You have certain talents and people have to learn. You can't take people off of an unemployment line and say, I'm gonna put you into a factory to make missiles...'
So in explaining why Americans can't do American jobs, the first thing that came to mind was the PRODUCTION OF MISSILES AND BOMBS FOR OUR NATIONAL DEFENSE??
Trump then gave the example of the Hyundai factory that was raided in Georgia, explaining that the illegal South Koreans found there have been "making batteries all their lives," and that this is too technical for unskilled Americans.
It's very complicated and not an easy thing. Very dangerous, a lot of explosions, a lot of problems.
Trump then repeated that you can't take people off an unemployment line and have them make missiles.
In arguing for foreign workers, the president made no mention of using resources to help Americans get the training they need for important, well-paying jobs in America.

Other people were more ... critical.
Many pointed out that Trump seems at odds with his own vice president, who has emphasized the need to provide training and opportunities for Americans in their own homeland.
Trump's Homeland Security secretary was also on TV on Wednesday to explain how the administration is making it easier for foreign workers to come and work in America (just with more vetting).
One thing neither official addressed is the reality that foreign workers are not merely being admitted for top-end jobs in brain surgery and rocket science, but for millions of low-level jobs that could easily be staffed by Americans.
