Oh, what irony.
Diana Johnson, minister for policing and crime prevention in the UK was speaking at a police conference in Warwickshire, talking about the crime epidemic, and while she was speaking some criminal absconded with her purse.
Diana Johnson was in Warwickshire on Tuesday to give a speech to the Police Superintendents' Association, in which she said towns and cities were being 'gripped by an epidemic of antisocial behaviour, theft and shoplifting.'
Little did she know, she was about to become the victim of antisocial behavior and theft herself.
Warwickshire police said they were investigating the theft of a purse at the hotel outside Kenilworth where the conference took place. A man has been arrested on suspicion of burglary.
A Home Office source confirmed that Johnson had had her purse stolen, after the news was first reported by the Financial Times.
I mean, ironic enough that she was robbed while addressing robbery in her country.
But it's double ironic considering she was in a room full of cops and a thief was allowed to sneak in and steal her stuff.
Also, considering the state of British policing lately ...
And considering that they've been letting criminals out of jail in order to jail memers ...
I guess this shouldn't be shocking in the least.
