Um, is anyone at all concerned that grocery stores around the country seem to be running out of food at an alarming rate? ๐Ÿค”

I think we all sort of got accustomed to the whole "bare shelves at grocery stores" thing for a hot minute there in April of 2020.

But...this isn't April of 2020. It's January of 2022. What exactly is happening here?

CNN claims that the shortages are arising from the Omicron COVID surge, "transportation problems" and "weather issues." Retailers, meanwhile, are reportedly attempting to get creative in how they deal with these issues:

Grocery stores certainly are aware of the empty shelves, Lempert said, and they are trying to mitigate panic buying, which only worsens it the situation.

One strategy: Fanning out products. They're doing this by putting out both limited varieties and limited quantities of each product in an attempt to prevent hoarding and stretch out their supplies between deliveries.

Ahh: "Limited varieties and limited quantities." Normally Republicans would have to pay top dollar for such a priceless midterm slogan. Yet CNN just wrote it for them.

November is gonna be interesting!
