The U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, aka Pothole Pete, will have his salary cut to just $1 if a new bill that passed the U.S. House somehow survives the Democrat-controlled Senate.
The bill's author Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene said,
"I'm proud to announce my amendment to FIRE Pete Buttigieg just PASSED the House. Pothole Pete staged fake bike rides to the White House and used private planes funded by taxpayers to receive awards for the way certain people have sex," Greene said in a social media post Tuesday. "American taxpayers should not be on the hook for paying for his lavish trips or his salary."
Why $1?
Well, Mayor Pete has famously complained about how his current $221k is too low.
Which is probably why he has to keep using taxpayer money and the executive fleet of airplanes to go on vacation and speak at LGBTQ gatherings around the world, instead of worrying about the transportation crises at home.
I'm not sure what anyone expected with a diversity hire who had no actual experience needed for this job.

Enriching Elon Musk with "Just Buy a Tesla" Campaign
Okay that last one didn't turn out so bad.
Musk used that mad Tesla money to set The Babylon Bee free from Twitter jail, so we'll have to give Buttigieg half a point for inadvertently enabling free speech.
It's still not great for those of us that can't just run out and buy a Tesla though.
Maybe old Mayor Pete will be in that fossil-fueled boat with the rest of us very soon!
