Secret Service responded after a late-night attacker smashed multiple windows at the Ohio home of Vice President JD Vance.

According to CNN, one person has been taken into custody after the attack.

One person is in custody and an investigation is under way following an incident that caused property damage at the Ohio residence of Vice President JD Vance, authorities said Monday.

The Vance family was not in Ohio at the time of the incident, according to the US Secret Service.

According to an arrest report obtained by WLWT, William DeFoor, 26, has been arrested in connection to the damage done at the home ...

In a statement of facts, DeFoor is accused of being seen by a Secret Service agent and on security footage walking onto the property without permission and damaging four windows, as well as a vehicle.

DeFoor has been charged with criminal damaging/endangering, obstructing official business and criminal trespass, all misdemeanors, as well as one count of vandalism, a fifth-degree felony.

'The U.S. Secret Service is coordinating with the Cincinnati Police Department and the U.S. Attorney's Office as charging decisions are reviewed,' the spokesperson, Anthony Guglielmi, said.

The VP and his family were not at home when the attack took place. They spent the previous week in Cincinnati.
