This brave officer managed to avoid all sorts of hurt during this scene of absolute pure chaos:

An Ohio cop has shot a woman through a windshield while clinging to the roof of her car after she mowed him down in a wild police chase caught on camera. ...

The chaos was captured from multiple angles through the bodycams of several Columbus PD sergeants on the scene.

The scene is crazier than you think:

Let's just break this down a bit. You can see, at the outset, that these guys were absolutely ready to roll. They're throwing down multiple spike strips. They're not playing around.

I'm not sure what this lady did, but apparently it was bad enough that she took one look at the spikes and a parking lot full of police sergeants with their guns drawn and she was like, "You know what, I think I prefer vehicular manslaughter."

So that's what she went for.

You don't see the officer fall off the car from this angle, but you can sure as heck see how far the car threw him. Just unbelievable:

Footage from the sarge's point of view is, unsurprisingly, even more insane:

The driver was eventually apprehended, with gunshot injuries, a short distance away. According to the Columbus Police Department, police "rendered aide on the suspect until medics arrived and transported her to [a local hospital] in serious condition."

The police sergeant, meanwhile, was also transported to a nearby hospital "in stable condition."

Crazy stuff.
