Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers used a helicopter to search the corn and bean field from above.
Note that the troopers didn't just "use a helicopter;" they used sophisticated technology to pinpoint the boy's location within the area.
Search-and-rescue techniques are obviously greatly improved from decades past:
