Gooshing a grasshopper on your windshield is gross enough. This, on the other hand, is more akin to a gooshing murder spree.
Video of the incident is not just a visual experience, it's an auditory one:
Yeah, that "dunk-dunk-dunk-dunk" sound, every one of those dunks is another grasshopper getting snooked on that lady's windshield.
I dunno about you but I think about 20 seconds of that sound would drive me insane.
A petrified women has captured the moment her car was swarmed by "hundreds of thousands" of grasshoppers while she cruised down a motorway.
Maryke Steenkamp was driving to Bloemfontein, South Africa, with her family on January 5 when their entire windscreen became clogged with bugs near the town of Colesberg.
To hear the driver tell it, the experience was kind of a whole-body sort of thing:
The 20-year-old, who owns a nail salon, claimed the experience was like being repeatedly "hit in the face" as the group were left confounded by the bizarre incident.
She said: "Even though there was a windshield between the grasshoppers and me, my body instinct told me they were going to hit me in the face so I kept dodging."
Normally you have to pay for that sort of spine-tingling visual trickery in a movie theater. This lady got it for free!
The moral of the story: Clouds of grasshoppers are gross and rather frightening. That's all.
