In Canada, when you publicly protest at the library because there are drag queens reading to children, you get in trouble with the law.

And then when the court orders you to apologize for something you are not sorry for and would do again, every time, here's what they do in Calgary:

"You know what you're arresting this man for? He refused to apologize for his religious beliefs. Are you aware of that?"

Yup, the court ordered Pastor Derek Reimer to apologize for a 2023 incident where he "intimidated" a librarian by protesting an event at the library where men in lingerie were reading to children. Keep in mind, he had already been on a year-long house arrest which was set to end next month when he refused to apologize. However, this breached his sentence conditions.

Here's what happened in court when Reimer appeared to discuss work restrictions:

And then afterwards, it was about the apology letter, where I went to the definition of apology.

...

I went into my freedom of conscience and a thorough study and my understanding of it, mixed with freedom of expression and religion, it explained and constituted that you have to express to the court your deeply held religious views of why this is a violation of your conscience and why you can't do it.

...

I kept going, and she got up and left her own courtroom, and the whole gallery of supporters erupted into applause.

Reimer called this "an embarrassment to a judicial system that wants respect and honor."

And then afterwards he got arrested as you saw above.

What's more, look at this:

Reimer told the judge that his own probation officer, Santander Parmer, wrote in Reimer's case one of the goals he in [sic] working with Reimer was to 'break down his [Reimer's] traditional thoughts about the LGBTQ community.'

That's when Reimer says Justice Molle called his evidence 'irrelevant.'

'You've given him [Parmer] the power of how I'm supposed to write the apology, and because he is pro-LGBTQ because he has pride flags all throughout his building and his probation building in office β€” that's a massive conflict of interest,' stated Reimer.

It's like they think he's some 9-year-old boy at the library and they can just groom him to accept men in lingerie.

But they couldn't do that, so they arrested him.

No word on whether or not he'll serve time for not apologizing to a librarian for protesting her library's drag queen event.
